Title: Moderate drinking can improve memory
Hitting the bottle to help drown out memories you'd rather forget may in fact etch them more deeply into your consciousness, a new study has found.
And having one or two glasses of wine a day may increase your ability to remember, and even help with Alzheimer sufferers.
The study at Auckland University was undertaken by Dr Maggie Kalev and Professor Matthew During.
The two researchers found moderate levels of alcohol consumption, equivalent to one or two glasses of wine a day, could enhance memory. wow gold
In contrast, high levels of alcohol decreased the ability of new brain cells to develop and mature.
"Low levels of alcohol promoted neutral memories, such as remembering objects," said Dr Kalev.
"However, contrary to popular belief, we also found that excessive levels of alcohol enhanced memories of highly emotional stimuli, meaning the concept of `drinking to forget' is unlikely to be true.
"Our work suggests that heavy drinking actually reinforces negative memories."
The study also identified the way low doses of alcohol improved memory.
Dr Kalev said a "very important" brain receptor, called an *A receptor, appeared to be necessary for the process.
Testing done on rats showed if they did not have enough *A receptors, their memory did not improve when given low alcohol doses.
However, rats which did show high numbers of *A receptors exhibited memory improvement when given small amounts of alcohol. wow gold
"Pathways by which memory is laid down are unclear, but *A receptor is critical in this process," Dr Kalev said.
"Building on this knowledge may help in the treatment of memory disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease and other dementias."

Aber nun mal wieder was zu Greex' Leid und Wohlergehen:
Ich bin noch gar nicht dazu gekommen, an Wow Gold dieser Stelle unseren wahnsinnig gelungenen Gruul-Kill von letzter Woche zu erw?hnen.

Aber nicht haupts?chlich um des Spieles Willen, sondern wegen der Gemeinschaft. Ich will Maghteridon nicht legen um den Loot abzugreifen, sondern damit er liegt. Damit ich mich mit 24 anderen Leuten über den Erfolg und die Arbeit freuen kann. Wir gemeinsam etwas geschafft haben und gest?rkt weiterziehen k?nnen. Daher straffe ich mal das Tempo wenn es "unwichtige" Dinge wie Chatspa? oder Radau im TS gibt, was andere st?ren k?nnte, aber entspanne die Situation wenn es darum geht, dass sich jemand bemüht hat seine Aufgabe zu erfüllen, dabei aber einen Fehler gemacht hat. Bemüht sich ein Spieler nicht und gibt nicht alles was er gerade kann, darf er gerne sachlich, korrekt und fragend darauf aufmerksam gemacht werden.

Also ist es ok und geh?rt so! Was mich aber wirklich st?rt ist, wenn ich an die andere Sorte von Mensch gerate. Eben solche, die anderen wegen einem Epic oder einem Fehler im Spiel auf's Dach steigen und pers?nlich angreifen.

Dazu empfehle ich auch immer gerne diesen Eintrag im Blizz Forum über eine ?hnliche Sache damals im Raid ;)
Wenn man sich im RL wie auch Spiel mal mit wirklichen Sorgen besch?ftigt hat, dann ist das Betteln um ein Item, oder das beleidigte Leberwurst spielen wegen eines virtuellen Todes, echt l?cherlich.

And the sound of the door-bell would be the beginning of the end -- after that there'd be no going back, by God -- no going back!
Granice resumed his pacing. Each time he reached the end of the room opposite the door he caught his reflection in the Florentine mirror above the fine old walnut credence he had picked up at Dijon -- saw himself spare, quick-moving, carefully brushed and dressed, but furrowed, gray about the temples, with a stoop which he corrected by a spasmodic straightening of the shoulders whenever a glass confronted him: a tired middle-aged man, baffled, beaten, worn out.
As he summed himself up thus for the third or fourth time the door opened and he turned with a thrill of relief to greet his guest. But it was only the man-servant who entered, advancing silently over the mossy surface of the old Turkey rug.
"Mr. Ascham telephones, sir, to say he's unexpectedly detained and can't be here till eight-thirty."
Granice made a curt gesture of annoyance. It was becoming harder and harder for him to control these reflexes. He turned on his heel, tossing to the servant over his shoulder: "Very good. Put off dinner."
Down his spine he felt the man's injured stare. Mr. Granice had always been so mild-spoken to his people -- no doubt the odd change in his manner had already been noticed and discussed below stairs. And very likely they suspected the cause. He stood drumming on the writing-table till he heard the servant go out; then he threw himself into a chair, propping his elbows on the table and resting his chin on his locked hands.
Another half hour alone with it!
He wondered irritably what could have detained his guest. Some professional matter, no doubt -- the punctilious lawyer would have allowed nothing less to interfere with a dinner engagement, more especially since Granice, in his note, had said: "I shall want a little Business chat afterward."
